What Does the PTO Do?

The Long Hill Township PTO supports students, staff, and families through volunteerism, enrichment programming, community events, and school-wide initiatives throughout the year.

Class Parents

Each homeroom relies on parent volunteers to help coordinate classroom celebrations, communicate important information, and assist with classroom activities and events throughout the school year.

Special Grade-Level Events

The PTO proudly coordinates, funds, and supports some of the most memorable experiences of the school year, including:

  • 2nd Grade Community Day
  • 3rd Grade International Day
  • 4th Grade Science Fair
  • 5th Grade Colonial Day
  • 5th Grade Picnic
  • 7th Grade Career Day

These hands-on experiences help bring learning to life while creating lasting memories for students.

Enrichment Programming

Our Enrichment Programming Committee coordinates and funds educational experiences across all three schools throughout the year. Programs are designed to complement the curriculum and support character education through:

  • Cultural Arts Programs
  • Visiting Authors
  • Visiting Artists
  • STEAM Programs
  • Assemblies and Educational Presentations

Staff Appreciation

The PTO proudly supports teachers and staff throughout the year by organizing appreciation events and activities such as:

  • Welcome Back Breakfasts
  • Teacher Appreciation Week Luncheons
  • Staff Appreciation Gifts
  • Teacher Lounge Snacks & Supplies

These efforts are one small way we thank our incredible staff for everything they do for our students each day.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways for families to get involved throughout the year. Volunteers help support and make possible events such as:

  • Book Fairs
  • Talent Show
  • Winter Coat Drive
  • Central Holiday Luncheon
  • Field Days at Gillette and Millington
  • School Dances
  • 8th Grade Graduation Reception
  • And many other PTO-sponsored activities and events

Every volunteer and every contribution helps strengthen our school community and enrich the student experience.
